D\u00fcnya ve Mars, g\u00fcne\u015fin etraf\u0131nda elips \u015feklinde bir y\u00f6r\u00fcnge izliyor. G\u00fcne\u015ften uzakl\u0131klar\u0131 farkl\u0131 olan iki gezegen ayn\u0131 y\u00f6nde ama farkl\u0131 h\u0131zlarda ilerliyor. 780 g\u00fcnde bir iki gezegen birbirine en yak\u0131n mesafeye ula\u015f\u0131yor.<\/p>\n
Mars’\u0131n gezegenimize uzakl\u0131\u011f\u0131 sebebiyle ay kadar b\u00fcy\u00fck g\u00f6r\u00fcnme ihtimali yok. En yak\u0131n konumda oldu\u011fu bug\u00fcnlerde Mars’\u0131 parlak bir y\u0131ld\u0131z olarak g\u00f6rece\u011fiz. \u0130nce bir atmosferi olan Mars gerek Ay’daki gibi meteor kraterlerini, gerekse D\u00fcnya’daki gibi volkan, vadi, \u00e7\u00f6l ve kutup b\u00f6lgelerini i\u00e7eren \u00e7ehresiyle bir yerbenzeri gezegendir. Ayr\u0131ca d\u00f6nme periyodu ve mevsim d\u00f6nemleri D\u00fcnya\u2019n\u0131nkine \u00e7ok benzer. 2 adet uydusu bulunmaktad\u0131r.<\/p>\n
Mars\u2019taki Olimpos Da\u011f\u0131 (Olympus Mons), G\u00fcne\u015f Sistemi\u2019nde bilinen en y\u00fcksek da\u011fd\u0131r ve Marineris Vadisi (Valles Marineris) ad\u0131 verilen kanyon en b\u00fcy\u00fck kanyondur. Ayr\u0131ca Haziran 2008\u2019de Nature dergisinde yay\u0131mlanan \u00fc\u00e7 makalede a\u00e7\u0131kland\u0131\u011f\u0131 gibi, Mars\u2019\u0131n kuzey yar\u0131mk\u00fcresinde 10.600 km uzunlu\u011funda ve 8.500 km geni\u015fli\u011findeki dev bir meteor kraterinin varl\u0131\u011f\u0131 saptanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Bu krater, bug\u00fcne kadar ke\u015ffedilmi\u015f en b\u00fcy\u00fck meteor kraterinin (Ay’\u0131n g\u00fcney kutbu k\u0131sm\u0131ndaki Atkien Havzas\u0131) d\u00f6rt misli b\u00fcy\u00fckl\u00fc\u011f\u00fcndedir.<\/p>\n
