Many people have probably already seen the &#8220;Seven Sisters,&#8221; a group of extremely bright stars located within the constellation Taurus.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\" dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\" dir=\"auto\">Among their celestial objects, they also include the star Aldebaran, also known worldwide as the Eye of the Bull, as well as the Hyades and the extremely famous Crab Nebula.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #15acdf;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\" dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\" dir=\"auto\">Mythology surrounding the Taurus Constellation<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\" dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\" dir=\"auto\">According to Greek mythology, many years ago there was a kingdom called Tyre, ruled by King Agenor, who had a beautiful daughter. This daughter&#8217;s name was Europa, and Zeus fell madly in love with her, wanting to possess her at any cost.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\" dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\" dir=\"auto\">This motivation and determination led Zeus to decide to use a classic strategy: transforming himself into some being or thing to get closer to her. Because of this, Zeus never appeared before his chosen ones in his true form, preferring to do everything while disguised as another person.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\" dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\" dir=\"auto\">He decided to transform himself into a bull, large and white as snow. Europa was enjoying herself with other young women on a beach when Zeus appeared as a white bull, frightening the group.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\" dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\" dir=\"auto\">The only one among the maidens who did not flee was Europa, who calmly approached the bull to pet him and then adorn him with various flowers. The maidens gained more confidence, but as they drew closer, Zeus moved away towards the sea, literally galloping over the waves with a frightened Europa on his back.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\" dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\" dir=\"auto\">Europa then calls for help from her friends, but the bull distances itself from them all and swims to Crete. There, Zeus takes his true form and lies with Europa, who ends up giving him two sons, among them Minos, who would later become king of Crete and father of the Minotaur.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #15acdf;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\" dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\" dir=\"auto\">The star Aldebaran<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\" dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\" dir=\"auto\">Also known as Alpha Tauri, Aldebaran is the brightest star in the entire constellation. Popularly known as the eye of the bull, it is located exactly where the supposed left eye of the mythical bull that forms the constellation would be.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\" dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\" dir=\"auto\">This name comes from Arabic and means &#8220;the one that follows,&#8221; a reference to the way the star appears to follow the Pleiades cluster as it moves across the sky. It is also one of the easiest stars to identify because of its brightness and location.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\" dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\" dir=\"auto\">To find it, simply follow the direction in which Orion&#8217;s belt points (the famous Three Marys), from right to left, with Aldebaran being the first of the brightest stars to be found along this imaginary line.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\" dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\" dir=\"auto\">Now, imagine if one of the stars in our universe had your name?
